In honor of Veterans Day, this week’s FEDtalk will showcase various programs offered by the federal government for veterans transitioning back into civilian life.
Joining host Jason Briefel of Shaw Bransford & Roth in the studio is Curtis Coy, the Deputy Under Secretary of Economic Opportunity at the Department of Veterans Affairs; Ariel DeJesus, the Assistant Director of Veterans Employment and Education at The American Legion, Bill Metheny, the Acting Director of National Programs and Director of Field Operations at the Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Services (VETS); and Dr. Karin Orvis, the Acting Director of the Transition to Veterans Program Office (TVPO) within the Department of Defense (DoD) to discuss the veterans programs they head up and to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) to Hire Heroes Act of 2011.
