Have you ever wondered what deposits or redeposits are in regards to your Federal Career?

You could benefit from a deposit/redeposit if:

  • You served in the military
  • You left the government and received a refund of your FERS or CSRS contributions AND later returned to Federal service

If the answer is yes to either or both of these questions, you may need to consider a deposit/redeposit option.

We discuss:

  • What is the benefit of making a "redeposit" and/or paying a "deposit" on your monthly retirement income?
  • What's the impact if you don't pay for it?

Our host, Bob Leins, and Federal Benefits Specialist, James Marshall, discuss the various types of Federal Service that may be creditable for retirement under CSRS and FERS... for both eligibility and computation purposes. After they explain what Deposits and Redeposits are, they discuss examples and help our audience understand the impact of this opportunity and how it may or may not be economical. There are many facets to this discussion, so be sure to listen!
